Honestly does want you to understand the material.
Cons: Tests are longer (but not necessarily harder), meaning you'll probably get a bad grade because you couldn't finish the test or go back to check your answers, not because you didn't know the material.
Research oriented, meaning she isn't always the best teacher you could have.
Professor Thompson is really nice, but isn't the best explainer. She does really want you to understand the material, though. Her tests are very long, making it hard for you to go back and check your answers. Everything I've missed on our two tests so far were errors that I would have seen if the test was a little shorter and had had time to review it, but the test questions are fair in terms of difficulty. If you're a /really/ quick worker, the tests are fine, but if you like to double-check your tests, find another teacher. There are 3 tests and a final and the lowest test grade is dropped. So you only have 3 grades as the homework is not graded, but is /highly/ recommended. (i.e. they are very similar to the test questions).
Cons: terrible teaching, chronically monotone, point easily lost in lecture
Possibly the worst lecturer I've ever had.
